Park home insurance? an expensive affair
Park homes aren't very popular for the many reasons and one of them is the insurance costs involved with having such a home. Park homes are defined as those homes which do not have a permanent foundation and are commonly referred to as trailers or mobile homes. These seem like a dream come true to those of us who have had to tighten our belts. The cost of a mobile home is much lower than that of a permanent house excluding the park home insurance costs. This little structure is easy to obtain and set up in a trailer park and makes for some rather easy vacations!
One of the main reasons insurance companies are uneasy when it comes to park homes is that they are very easy to burgle. Usually all the belongings within the mobile home are insured against burglars or fires or any accident of that sort. However, any negligence on the part of the owner and the insurance company can't be held liable and will refuse to make the payment. Hence, insurance companies aren't too fond of park home insurance claims.
Also trailer parks aren't the most secure areas and the people within the park could be a threat to the mobile home. After all, trailer parks are known to have large populations and lack a certain amount of familiarity among the residents. These structures aren't very durable and usually don't handle natural disasters such as storms or earthquakes very well. Neither does one expect to find a security system in a park home. Hence, park home insurance is much more expensive than any other kind of home insurance.
As mentioned above, the mobile home's durability plays a key role in its high insurance costs. Mobile homes don't have the same raw materials as a permanent house does. Instead of bricks and cement its metal which will not hold up in a storm. People living in areas prone to certain natural calamities may want to reconsider a park home or better yet they should opt for insurance options which protect them from expenses after said calamity.
Customers can expect insurance companies to be extremely attentive to detail especially if it's a detail that will deny you park home insurance coverage. However, if having a park home is what you want then insurance shouldn't stand in your way as long as you remember it is essential to have insurance for a park home.
